The IMO has developed a range of training courses to address all aspects of oil spill planning, response and management. These are known as the OPRC Model Courses. These courses have been designed and developed by an international group of experts from governments and industry.
EmerPlan had tailored these courses to incorporate information and material relevant to the local context and to the prospective audience. This includes information relating to the relevant local, national and regional legislation governing marine pollution preparedness and response that may be in force or under development.
Four model training courses have been developed, each individual course is designed to cater for personnel with specific roles and responsibilities in the preparedness and response to oil spills, i.e. Operational, Tactical or Strategic.
